HARMONY SCIENTIFIC- “INGENIUM” 2024
The Scientific offshoot of the Annual College Festival “Harmony 2024- Kairos”, named “Ingenium 2024” was successfully conducted from 27th February 2024 to 1st March 2024 within the college premises, under the guidance of Chairperson and Dean- Dr. Wasundhara Bhad-Patil, Scientific Head Dr. Easwaran Ramaswamy and organized by Scientific Secretaries Shruti Sawant and Basavaraj Hegadi. Students from all academic strata as well as staff participated in the event. Events such as UG/PG/Staff Paper and Poster presentations, Debate and Quiz competitions and Table Top clinics were prospected. All events were judged/moderated/chaired by Faculty from various departments of the Institution.
The event started on 27th February 2024 at 8:30am with a Basic Life Support workshop conducted by faculty from the Life supporters Institute of Health Sciences. A total of 34 participants (2 staff and 32 students) enrolled for the workshop. The workshop included aspects of First Aid, CPR and AED, and gave participants insights on dealing with common emergencies. It was concluded by 3:30pm. A PG paper presentation event was conducted in 3 different seminar halls of the institution between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. A total of 22 papers were presented by PG students from various years.
The morning of 28th February witnessed an Inauguration ceremony for Ingenium 2024 which started at 9:00am, followed by celebration of the National Science Day with a video dedicated to advances in science and technology and their utilities in modern dentistry. Following that, the Establishment day of the Institution was celebrated under the guidance of Dean Dr. Wasundhara Bhad-Patil and Dr. Rajesh Gaikwad. Prominent alumni of the institution including Dr. Suresh Meshram, Dr. Dilip Pol, Dr. Kelkar and others were invited. The event concluded at 10:30am. This was followed by an alumni meeting in the Dean’s cabin. Two Guest Lectures were conducted from 10:30am to 11:30am and 11:30 am to 12:30pm on the topics “Caring for the Caregivers: Understanding and Addressing Mental Health Issues Among Dental Students- by Dr. Haritha Nimmagadda” and “Decoding Laser Dentistry- by Dr. Sana Farista”. Senior staff from the institution chaired both lectures. An attendance of 60 was noted for both. In the afternoon, UG Paper and Poster presentation events took place in 3 different seminar halls from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. A total of 4 papers and 17 posters were presented in these events. A Quiz competition named Connaissance was also conducted from 3:30 pm to 4:30pm, concluding the day. A total of 6 teams participated and the total number of students was 36.
On 29th February, the Staff paper presentation event was held from 1:30pm to 4:30 pm. A total of 12 papers were presented by Staff. Table Top Clinics were conducted from 3:00 pm to 4:30pm, the themes for which included “Waste to Wonder Expo” and “Innovation Fiesta”. A total of 5 teams from various departments participated in the event.
An Annual Function was conducted on 1st March from 9:30 am onwards. It included a concluding message and a short video by the organizers about the previous days of the event. This was followed by the Dean’s address, Felicitation of event heads, HODs and staff members, and Felicitation of academic toppers and winners of Paper/Poster presentation. The function was graced by Officials from Bank of Baroda who announced the Baroda Achiever’s Award for 3 PG students of the institution. The Annual Function concluded at 12:30 pm with a vote of thanks by the organizers. In the afternoon, a Debate competition was conducted from 3:30 pm to 4:30pm, in which a total of 4 teams and 36 students participated. This marked the conclusion of Ingenium 2024.
