Department of prosthodontics govt dental college and hospital Mumbai on the 2nd of July 2023, had the honor of being a part of the 27th WCOI Japan Annual Scientific Conference.

The 2nd Japan-India Collaboration conference was successfully conducted online, under the able guidance of Dr. Jyoti Tembhurne, Professor and Head, Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, who was inducted as the Chairperson for this year’s collaboration.
The conference themed, ‘Review the Past and Know the Future’, saw a wonderful mix of Japanese and Indian Speakers presenting on a diverse range of carefully curated topics and sessions to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.

It included a Keynote presentation by Dr. Jyoti Tembhurne, while 4 of our staff members, Dr. Arti Gangurde, Dr. Manish Chauhan, Dr. Niraja Jaiswal and Dr. Rajesh Gaikwad presided over the various sessions as moderators.

In addition, Dr. Vishwas Kharsan, Professor and Head, Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai and Dr. Shreyas Gupte, Professor and Head, YMT Dental College, Navi Mumbai were invited as Guest Speakers for the session.

The event also witnessed students from the Departments of Prosthodontics and Periodontology at the Govt. Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai and Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College, Navi Mumbai participating in the Poster Presentation Competition.

We are glad to announce that two of our Post Graduate students, Dr. Harmandeep Dhaliwal and Dr. Pradnya Salian bagged the Gold and Silver Medal award respectively, in the poster presentation competition.

This collaboration turned out to be a great success thanks to the enthusiastic contribution of all our committee members; the insights of all our esteemed speakers and most importantly the audience who were actively involved in the interactive Q&A session.

We also extend our gratitude to the team at WCOI Japan and our coordinators for ensuring a smooth coordination at both ends, throughout the session.
