Good morning dear ones from GDCH Mumbai .We had the National Event I can , You Can, India Can Torch Program under the aegis of Indian Association of Oral Pathologist and CDE program on Salivary gland Pathology and case discussion of rare Oral Pathologies.
We are grateful to the President IAOMP Dr.Ahuja Sir , Secretary IAOMP Dr.Nadeem Sir and Treasurer Dr.Nandan Sir for all their help and support.
The event started with the inaugural function and lighting of Lamp by Dr. J.V.Tupkari as the Guest of Honour, Dr.S.R.Barpande as Special Guest ,our proud alumni Dr.Jyoti Bhavthankar, Dean Dr.Wasundhara Bhad and HOD Dr.Tabita Joy and Assoc.Prof. Dr.Manisha Ahire .
Dr.Jyoti Bhavthankar Mam’ was felicitated by the department, Institute and Secretary ,GDC Alumni Association Dr.Rajesh Gaikwad.
A rally was started from the third floor of the institute to the porch to the outer campus and back to Campus. The Torch was passed from the senior faculty to the outgoing Post Graduate Students depicting also the passing of the Mantel.The II BDS students performed a Skit towards the Oral Cancer Awareness and also shouted slogans on the way for Public Awareness . The rally program was conducted by Dr.Archana Gaikwad.
There were Guest Lectures on Salivary Gland Pathologies by Dr.Jigna Pathak ( Prof. MGM Dental College Navi Mumbai) , Dr. Neha Mittal ( Assoc.Prof. Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai) and Dr.Saurab Nagar ( TMH Mumbai) in the morning session .

In the afternoon session Dr.Mandakini Mandale ( Prof & Head , GDCH Chattrapati Sambhaji Nagar ) shared rare cases followed by Quiz conducted by Dr.Niveditha . A panel discussion on slide reporting was taken by Dr.J.V.Tupkari, Dr.Bhavthankar & Dr.Tabita Joy
The delegates had an opportunity to see rare cases focussed in the department.
The program concluded with valedictory Function with prize distribution for PG quiz competition and vote of thanks by Dr.Salma Tadvi .
The program was a grand sucess with faculty and PG students attending from, 2 Mumbai Colleges , 6 Navi Mumbai colleges, 2 Pune colleges, from Chattrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Nashik,Dhule, Sangli and other parts of Maharashtra. Mr.Ashish (Artist) designed the certificate , Flyers and Banners while Mr.Rohit ( Photographer) captured all the memories.
The program was organised under the support of Dean Dr.Wasundhara Bhad and leadership of Dr.Tabita Joy Prof. & Head and the ardent efforts of all the teaching, Non- teaching staff and Post Graduate Students of Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology Government Dental College and Hospital Mumbai.
