INTERNATIONAL DENTAL CONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOP
Elevating Periodontal Instrumentation Skills

Under the guidance of our esteemed Dean, Dr. Dimple Padawe, an International Dental Continuing Education Workshop titled “Elevating Periodontal Instrumentation Skills” was conducted on 27th January 2026 at Government Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai. The program was organized by the Department of Periodontology in association with Paradise Dental Technologies to enhance knowledge and clinical proficiency in periodontal instrumentation among dental professionals, postgraduate students, and faculty.

The event began with registration, breakfast, and a formal inauguration, followed by scientific sessions integrating current concepts with clinical practice. Dr. Elizabeth Noll introduced Paradise Dental Technologies and recent advancements in instrumentation. Ms. Linda Miller discussed instrumentation philosophy, emphasizing ergonomics, efficiency, and precision. Ms. Whitney Howerton delivered sessions on non-surgical periodontal instrumentation as well as instrument sharpening and maintenance, highlighting their importance in achieving optimal clinical outcomes. Dr. Meenu Taneja Bhasin concluded the lectures with insights into clinical decision-making and systematic instrument selection.

A hands-on workshop conducted by Ms. Whitney Howerton provided participants with guided demonstrations and supervised practice. The program was well-structured, academically enriching, and received positive feedback, successfully achieving its objective of strengthening clinical skills in periodontology through evidence-based learning and practical training.
