Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai organised Interns Orientation

Program on 15th and 16th September 2023. The orientation program was conducted to help the interns to know about various aspects of the internship training program.
The program was organised by Dr. Niraja Jaiswal, Intern In-charge GDCH, Mumbai, under the able guidance of respected Dean Dr. Wasundhara Bhad Ma’am.

The program started at 9.30 am on 15th September 2023 with the lighting of a lamp by Dean Dr. Wasundhara Bhad Mam, Guest speaker Dr. Rajeev Chitguppi and all Heads of the department.

Dr. Niraja Jaiswal Associate Professor, Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, explained about the MUHS guidelines for internship. The session was highly informative. It was followed by Dean Dr. Wasundhara Bhad Madam’s address. Madam has enlightened the students about the importance of internship training.
It was followed by a lecture from guest speaker Dr. Rajeev Chitguppi about “Dentistry 2030”. The students were acquainted with the opportunities that they can explore after BDS.

Followed next was the lecture “Doctor-Patient Relationship” by Dr. Dimple Padawe, Professor and HOD, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. The students were then briefed about the dos and don’ts of every department by respective Heads of the Department and staff members.

On the second day, the session started with a presentation by Dean Dr. Wasundhara Bhad Ma’am. She enlightened everyone about the benefits of research.

Dr Abrar Sayed, Professor and HOD, Department of Conservative Dentistry and endodontics spoke on the topic “Dental chair -most basic but the least understood aspect.” This was followed by a lecture on “Introduction to medicolegal safe practice” by Dr. Manoj Ramugade, Associate Professor, Department of Conservative Dentistry.
