A two day capacity building workshop on tobacco cessation was organized by the department of Oral medicine and radiology under the guidance of respected Dean madam to commemorate National Oral Medicine and Radiology day . The two day workshop was conducted by Dr Himanshu Gupte and Mrs Ratandeep Chawla of the Narottam Seksharia foundation at GDC Mumbai which included a comprehensive syllabus ranging from Introduction to tobacco products, the psycho-physiology of tobacco addiction, evaluation and assessment of tobacco users, motivational interviewing, counselling techniques and Pharmacological intervention in tobacco cessation. There were sessions on group discussion on case presentation. A total of 23 delegates participated in the workshop. I would like to thank the resource persons from NSK foundation for conducting the workshop.
