On the occasion of World Senior citizens day, under the able guidance of Dr. Wasundhara Bhad Patil Ma’am ,Dean, Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai, the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge headed by Dr Arti Gangurde along with Dr Manish Chauhan, Dr Niraja Jaiswal, Dr Shirish Pawar, Dr Ravikumar Akulwar and the postgraduate students, organised a one-day program.
The Inaugural program started with lamp lighting and the felicitation of Guest Speaker Dr.Veena Yardi, a renowned nutritionist and academician.
This was attended by the senior citizen patients, undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and staff. The senior citizens patients were greeted with flowers and the department distributed fruits to them.

A very insightful lecture on the nutritional requirements of elders and modifications in the food preparations for senior citizen patients was taken by Dr Veena Yardi Ma’am.

The department also unveiled the denture care instructions written in Braille by Mr. Kiran Chawre in both Hindi and Marathi.

Dr Arti Gangurde conducted an online lecture on ‘Flip the script on aging, a dental prospect,’ which were attended by many elderly people.

Comprehensive treatment was also given to all the elderly patients.
