Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai organised Interns Orientation Program on 20th and 21st of March 2025. The orientation program was conducted to help the interns to know about various aspects of the internship training program.
The program was organised by Dr. Niraja Jaiswal, Intern In-charge GDCH, Mumbai, under the able guidance of respected Dean Dr. Wasundhara Bhad Ma’am.
The program started at 9.30 am on 20th March 2025 with MUHS guidelines for internship by Dr. Niraja Jaiswal Associate Professor, Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge.The session was
extremely informative. It was followed by the inauguration of the program and lighting of the lamp by Dean Dr. Wasundhara Bhad Ma’am, Joint Director Dr.Vivek Pakhmode sir, Guest speaker Dr. Darshan Parulkar sir and all Heads of the department.

It was followed by Dean Madam’s address. Madam has enlightened the students about the importance of internship training.
It was followed by a lecture from our joint director, DMER Dr.Vivek Pakhmode sir on the importance of World Health Day. It was later followed by Dr. Darshan Parulkar sir’s lecture, where he guided the students about how to start and manage a thriving practice.

Followed next was the lecture on “Strategic Internship optimise time and craft goals” by Dr. Dimple Padawe, Professor
and HOD, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. The students were briefed about how to manage time effectively in their internship .
In the afternoon, a lecture on “NEET preparation “ was taken by Dr. Nikita Baheti. The students were briefed about how to plan and start studying for their NEET MDS exam.
The day was concluded with a lecture on “Medico-legal safe practice” by Dr.Narendra Kale, President MSDC.

On second day, the session started with a presentation by Dean Ma’am. Ma’am
enlightened everyone about the benefits of research.
which was followed by a lecture by Mrs.Sarita Gaikwad, dietician at St.George Hospital, about the importance of a balanced diet.
This was followed by a lecture by Dr.Arti Gangurde Head of Prosthodontics department on the importance of add on course on Basic Oral Implantology for interns.
Later, students were enlightened about how to be an entrepreneur along with being a clinician by Dr
N K Doctor sir.
In the afternoon, the Interns were briefed about the do’s and don’ts of every department by respective incharges.
The program was concluded with a vote of thanks.
