National Periodontist Day Celebration 2026

23rd & 24th February 2026

National Periodontist Day was celebrated on 23rd February 2026, as declared by the Indian Society of Periodontology, at the Department of Periodontology, Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai.

The two-day programme aimed to promote oral hygiene awareness and academic enrichment.

Day 1 included a public awareness rally conducted in and around the college premises, along with Reel and Rangoli competitions for undergraduate students, postgraduate students, interns, and dental hygienist students on the theme “Spreading Awareness on Oral Hygiene.” A lecture on wound healing further added academic value to the event.

Day 2 featured an academic lecture series by eminent speakers, followed by certificate distribution to competition winners.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Periodontology, Dr. Akshaya Banodkar, and with the constant support and encouragement of the Dean, Dr. Dimple Padawe.

The Department sincerely expresses its gratitude to the Dean for her unwavering support, which contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the celebration.

The event successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting periodontal health awareness and academic excellence.
