The Department of Prosthodontics, Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai, celebrated National Prosthodontist Day on 22nd Jan 2026 under the able guidance of respected Dean, Dr. Dimple Padawe ma’am.

Dr. Arti Gangurde, Professor and Head, Department of Prosthodontics along with the Associate Professors Dr. Manish Chauhan, Dr. Niraja Jaiswal, Dr. Shirish Pawar, Dr. Ravikumar Akulwar and team organized a two day program from 21st January to 22nd January 2026 for the same, to highlight the importance of Prosthodontists in serving the oral health needs of the society.

The first day started with a Slogan competition emphasizing the importance of restoration of missing teeth, with participation of more than 30 students. This was followed by Creative art competition, where undergraduate and Dental Mechanics students showcased their skills by making models using various dental materials.

The second day involved Rangoli competition showcasing various Prosthodontic treatment modalities and promoting awareness about the same amongst the patients.

The highlight of the day was the Public Awareness Rally flagged off by respected Dean Ma’am. A Skit meant to promote awareness about Prosthodontics amongst the masses was performed by students with great vigour.
Patient information flyers made by the Department were also released at the hands of Dean Ma’am and all Heads of the departments and later distributed to patients.

The programme concluded with distribution of prizes for winners of various competitions and vote of thanks. The program was a grand success with participation of more than 110 students.
