Scope of Department

Oral pathology is the specialty of dentistry and pathology which deals with the nature, identification, and management of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions. It is a science that investigates the causes, processes, and effects of these diseases. The practice of oral pathology includes research, diagnosis of diseases using clinical, radiographic, microscopic, biochemical, or other examinations, and management of patients. Oral pathologists offer biopsy services for dental and medical professionals, and many also offer clinical diagnosis and manage clinics (clinical oral pathology)

Patient Services

Patient’s Routine complete hemogram is done in the Department.

Patients referred to the department are examined thoroughly and advised the proper counseling regarding the treatment.

Histopathological examination and diagnosis of various oral and maxillofacial pathological lesions are carried out.

Academic Activities

Seminars on specific topics weekly.

Presentation and discussions on scientific articles from various international journals to update the advances in the field of Oral Pathology Microbiology and related basic sciences TWICE IN A WEEK.

Discussion on histopathological slides reported from the department and retrieved from archives of the departmental registry.
Histopathologic slide seminar on specific topics twice in 15 days.

Case history presentation on PowerPoint and patients referred to the department.

Active participation in seminars presented by the undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Clinical Activities

Art and Photography work related to Academic, Clinical, Conferences, CDE Programme Scientific Workshops. Photography Designing work related to Cultural Events, Sports and other Extra-Curricular Activities. Museum / Illustration work related to academic activities.
