On the occasion of World Health Day 2026 , under the visionary leadership and inspiring guidance of our esteemed Dean, Dr. Dimple Padawe , the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai initiated a Value-Added Course for Dental Interns titled “Tobaccology – Training on Tobacco Cessation: Advanced Counselling.”

This academic initiative, conducted in collaboration with LifeFirst , an initiative by the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation, aims to strengthen interns’ competencies in evidence-based tobacco cessation and counselling.

As part of this initiative, a Tobacco Cessation Counselling Workshop was successfully conducted, featuring insightful sessions by Dr. Dinesh Jagiasi and Ms. Ratandeep , making the program highly enriching and impactful.
