Established in accordance with the directives of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, the Research and Development Cell (R&D) at Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai is dedicated to creating a nurturing and innovative environment for research among students, faculty members, and Ph.D. scholars.

The committee conducts various conferences for educating the researchers and also to guide and provide a platform to display their scientific skills. Our esteemed institute also has a journal IJADS (International Journal of Advanced Dental Sciences) to publish the research work. Our researchers have been engaged in high-quality research projects, resulting in a significant increase in publications in both national & international databases. Our enthusiastic teachers also guide the young undergraduate students to cultivate a research oriented mindset under our ‘Choose your own guide’ initiative. There has been a notable surge in copyright and patent filings, attributed to the initiatives and support provided by the research cell. We take pride in being on par with the best institutions in the country, with ideas of collaborating with prestigious institutions for further research.

We conduct regular workshops on basic research methodology for undergraduate students, training them in research and innovation. Advanced research methodology, systematic review, meta-analysis, and bioethics training is provided for postgraduate students, Ph.D. scholars, and staff. Each research idea is reviewed, supported, and encouraged by eminent experts in collaboration with specialized institutes. Our focus is on enhancing facilities for grant submission and international collaborations.
